The Opportunity
Ngaanyatjarra Health Service (NHS) is seeking a dedicated
FIFO Medical Officer
to join our team delivering high-quality, culturally safe primary health care across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands. With a flexible roster, this role offers the chance to provide frontline clinical services in remote community health centres and our regional aged care facility.
About You
You are a fully registered medical practitioner with AHPRA, experienced in primary health care and attuned to the unique needs of remote Indigenous communities. You communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and are committed to delivering culturally safe, person‑centred care.
You thrive in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to improved health outcomes for Aboriginal people across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands. Fellowship with ACRRM or RACGP is essential. Advanced skills in areas such as obstetrics, emergency medicine, or rural generalist practice are a plus.
You are confident using digital health systems (Communicare experience is advantageous), support the development of colleagues, and hold a current C‑class driver's license. You are willing and able to travel across remote regions by 4WD or light aircraft, with the necessary WA Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain.

Established in the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NCG) represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.
