Primary objective
Provide high quality, customer focused, efficient and effective information and advice, processing and issuing of licences,
permits and registrations across the broad range of legislative frameworks administrated by the division.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Research, examine and assess relevant information and make recommendations for the approval or refusal of licence,
permit and registration applications to the delegate.
2. Provide high level administrative and secretariat services to support the activities of Statutory Board's, including
preparing correspondence, reports, briefing papers and make recommendations for the approval or refusal of licence,
permit and registration applications.
1. Update and maintain licensing systems, databases and information management records for licensing, regulatory and
performance reporting requirements.
1. Participate in licensing compliance programs, investigate, analyse and recommend the suspension, revocation or
cancellation of licences, permits and registrations.
1. Provide advice and interpretations to applicants and other stakeholders regarding licence, permit and registration
requirements, legislation and other matters as required.
1. Assist in on the job training of less experienced staff and contribute to the development of work plans and team goals.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Ability to interpret and apply applicable legislation, policy and procedures within a regulatory framework.
2. Experience using various software packages, spreadsheets and database applications including competence in
maintaining data integrity.
3. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing correspondence, reports and
briefs.
4. Well-developed interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience providing quality customer service and operating as
an effective team member.
5. Demonstrated sound judgement and analytical skills, including the ability to apply initiative, prioritise and manage
workloads in an environment subject to pressure and deadlines.
6. High level of personal drive and motivation with the ability to interact effectively with people in high stress situations
and those from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Previous knowledge and experience with this or a similar regulatory/licensing framework.
2. Current Driver's licence.
