Job Details
We are seeking multiple Lead Cyber Threat Analysts (EL1 equivalent) to support a high-assurance cyber intelligence environment within Australian Signals Directorate.
These roles are responsible for delivering advanced cyber threat intelligence, threat modelling, and operational reporting across national security programs. Successful candidates will operate in highly classified environments and contribute to both active cyber operations and long-term intelligence capability uplift.
In addition to immediate vacancies, a merit pool will be established for future opportunities arising within 12 months of RFQ close.
All candidates must complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver very complex cyber threat intelligence briefs and reports relating to national security matters.
* Undertake advanced research and analysis of cyber threat actors, providing situational awareness and subject matter expertise.
* Lead and mentor others in the fusion of cyber threat data with all-source intelligence to model and track adversaries.
* Apply advanced analytical tools and techniques to assess cyber threat activity and recommend response actions.
* Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standard operating procedures for cyber intelligence operations.
* Design and deliver team training workshops and capability uplift activities.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships and deliver tailored intelligence products to support operational decision-making.
* Evaluate cyber threat strategies, policies, initiatives, and operational frameworks.
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrated experience undertaking complex cyber threat intelligence, modelling, or threat assessment activities.
2. Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining complex cyber security threat reporting for senior stakeholders.
3. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the use of analytical tools and techniques for cyber threat assessment.
Desirable Criteria
1. CREST Certified Network Intrusion Analyst (CCNIA) or
2. CREST Certified Malware Reverse Engineer (CCMRE).
Qualifications & Background
* Diploma or Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or Intelligence-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in:
* Penetration Testing
* Host / Network Forensics
* Intelligence Analysis
Clearance & Suitability
* Must be Australian citizen.
* Must hold or be eligible for NV2 clearance (TSPV candidates strongly preferred).
* Must successfully complete ASD Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA).
