The Department: A small, high-performing Commonwealth team responsible for advancing Australia's international interests through strategic campaigns and partnerships. The team is collaborative, fast-paced, and outcomes-focused.

The Role:

This role provides hands-on support across communications, branding, and event coordination within a project team. You'll assist in delivering key messaging, visual assets, merchandise and event logistics to promote and strengthen program visibility and stakeholder engagement.

This role is Canberra-based and will be offered as a 12 month labour-hire with potential extension. NV1 (minimum) preferred; NV2 highly regarded.

Duties

* Develop and deliver campaign content, including talking points, media releases, speeches, social and digital assets.
* Manage branding and design, overseeing production across digital, print and merchandise.
* Coordinate events and launches, including logistics, branding and stakeholder engagement.
* Monitor campaign performance, manage merchandise inventory and contribute to reporting.

Skills and experience

* Strong written communication across a range of platforms, with the ability to draft high-quality content.
* Demonstrated design capability – Adobe Illustrator and InDesign essential.
* Experience coordinating events and branded merchandise production.
* Procurement and contract management experience in a government context.
* Proven stakeholder engagement skills and ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion.
* An understanding of multilateral issues and Australia's foreign-policy priorities is an advantage.
* Current NV1/NV2 clearance (or ability to obtain).
