A new opportunity has become available for a House Manager to work within our Residential Care program in the region. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential houses, ensuring that we are creating a safe, culturally appropriate and healing environment for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Build professional relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement.
* Ensure the home is a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, and appropriately engaging and stimulating, to foster growth and resilience.
* Assist with the development and implementation of case plans and develop and implement service delivery plans that drive day-to-day operations.
* Manage, support and provide reflective supervision to a team of residential workers, and lead staff to work as a team in the best interests of children and young people.
* Support staff to apply therapeutic crisis intervention systems to prevent, de-escalate and respond to crisis incidents involving children and young people.
* Undertake rostering of residential workers to ensure risks are managed, and staffing levels reflect the needs of children and young people living in the home.
* Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and the exit of children and young people to permanent homes or step-down services.
* Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar, experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and disadvantage, and experience in managing and leading a team.
