Occupational Therapist – Grade 1

Permanent Part Time or Full Time

Up to 80 hours per fortnight - Multiple Positions Available

Classification: Dependent on Experience

Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2025

This is a great opportunity for a suitable qualified Occupational Therapist Grade 1 to join the team in Community Services at MDHS working in a permanent position In this role you will be responsible for providing a range of Occupational Therapy services, including community, acute, Transitional Care Program (TCP), residential aged care and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the MDHS catchment area. In this diverse role you will be provided with clinical supervision and professional development opportunities. We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

- Experience with working with community members who are frail, aged and disabled
- Basic Life Support Certificate

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

1. Relevant tertiary qualification to work as an Occupational Therapist.
2. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
3. Eligibility to be registered as an Occupational Therapist under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
4. Eligibility to be a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists

Specialist Expertise

1. Knowledge and/or ability to assess and provide broad-based Occupational Therapy interventions for clients/patients/residents, especially in relation to activities of daily living (ADLs)
2. Understanding and/or experience of working and communicating with clients/patients/residents from various backgrounds.
3. Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary environment, as well as working autonomously.
4. Understanding and commitment to practice that reflects evidence-based treatment and client-centred work.
5. Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.

Personal Qualities

1. Excellent written and verbal communication, including computer skills.
