We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and professional Area Manager to join our Client Field Team in Beard, Canberra .

As the face of our brand in the field, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of pet aftercare service, while building strong, trusted relationships with veterinary clinics and clients.
About the role
Reporting to the Location Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end collection and delivery of pets, supporting operational excellence while demonstrating genuine compassion in every interaction.
This is a hands‑on, autonomous role suited to someone who is organised, emotionally intelligent and comfortable working in a physically active environment.
Key responsibilities
Customer service & care
* Collect pets from veterinary clinics and private residences in line with daily and weekly schedules
* Return ashes to families with empathy, professionalism and care
* Liaise closely with veterinary clinics, practice managers and clients
* Respond to urgent collections and schedule changes in collaboration with internal teams
* Manage client concerns or complaints with sensitivity and professionalism
* Maintain immaculate standards in veterinary clinic freezer facilities
Collaboration & teamwork
* Work closely with Client Care, Cremation, Prep and Relationship Teams
* Support fellow Area Managers with loading and unloading as required
* Attend team and company meetings
* Contribute positively to a respectful, collaborative team culture
Administration & compliance
* Ensure pets are accurately tagged, weighed and documented
* Complete all paperwork accurately and on time
* Handle client payments (cash, cheque and card) in line with procedures
Systems, vehicles & safety
* Maintain vehicles to company standards, including cleanliness and servicing
* Ensure vehicles are stocked with required equipment and consumables
* Uphold WHS standards, report hazards and follow safety procedures at all times
What we're looking for
* A calm, compassionate and professional communicator
* Strong customer service background (health, logistics, community services or similar highly regarded)
* Comfortable working autonomously and following structured procedures
* Physically capable - able to lift up to 25kg unassisted
* High attention to detail and personal presentation
* Resilient and emotionally mature, with the ability to perform demanding tasks over sustained periods
* Current Q Fever vaccination (or willingness to obtain)
