We have six aged care villages across NSW, including five within the Sydney Metro area and the sixth located in regional NSW (Griffith).

YOUR PURPOSE

You are a member of the Village Leadership Team and you are a visionary in food experience. You are the hands‐on manager of the food services function, responsible for cooking, planning and preparing high‐quality food offerings for residents in accordance with our Belong model of person‐centred care. You lead a dynamic hospitality team and strive for continuous quality improvement in all aspects of catering and customer service excellence.

YOUR OUTCOMES

Person‐Centred Care

You work collaboratively to cook, prepare and plan a variety of food offerings that recognise the individual choices and preferences of residents, as well as meeting any complex care needs relating to diet, nutrition and hydration.

Systems & Processes

You manage all aspects of food safety and compliance across the village, including the applicable Aged Care Accreditation Standards.

People & Teams

You lead and nurture a professional food services team that is committed to quality, safety, and customer service excellence.

YOUR PROFILE

* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
* Unit of competency HLTAID003 (Apply First Aid)
* A passion for food and food experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience managing a commercial kitchen
* Previous experience in menu planning, ordering systems, and managing budgets
* Sound knowledge of the NSW Food Safety Act, HACCP Principles, and Aged Care Accreditation Standards
* Outstanding time management and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Intermediate to advanced computer literacy
* You can cook, plan, prepare and present meals in a quality and timely manner
* Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
* Understanding of person‐centred care and issues relating to dementia care
* Ability to speak Italian or other languages
* Experience managing a commercial kitchen in an aged care or health services environment

YOUR ACTIVITIES

Person‐Centred Care

* You are an active member of the Village Leadership Team, and you advocate for residents' right to make decisions in all aspects of living.
* You work closely with the Village Manager, developing strategies to connect and deliver a positive food experience for residents and their families.
* You connect with residents and families via their food experience.
* You work collaboratively to cook, plan and prepare a variety of food offerings that recognise the individual choices and preferences of residents, as well as meeting any complex care needs relating to diet, nutrition and hydration.
* You develop flexible menu plans based on resident needs and preferences, including flexibility in the preparation/delivery/accessibility of food offerings.
* You pro‐actively seek feedback from residents and families regarding their food services satisfaction levels.

Systems & Processes

* You manage the daily operations of the kitchen and all food services functions across the village, including the agreed food services budget.
* You provide a safe and healthy environment for residents by ensuring compliance with the NSW Food Safety Act and HACCP Principles.
* You maintain a Food Safety Program and Quality Program in accordance with the Aged Care Accreditation Standards and other legislative requirements.
* You maintain an effective food ordering/stock control system, including supplier management and invoicing.
* You adhere to manual handling procedures and safe use of all equipment; you report any safety issues or incidents.
* You follow established procedures for handling feedback or complaints from residents or families. Please note mandatory reporting applies to all allegations of elder abuse.
* You comply with all operational policies and procedures and applicable legislation.

All Executive Chefs will have allocated time per week for the purpose of completing any administrative tasks required as part of the role. The amount of allocated time to complete administrative tasks will be dependent on the number of residents residing at the respective Villages as reflected in the table below:

Alternatively, you may dedicate one day per week for the purpose of completing administrative tasks, upon agreement with the Village Manager.
