In this role, you will take ownership of chassis system design—from concept development through to release, validation, and production.
You will work across exciting vehicle programs, contributing to high-profile OEM and specialty vehicle projects.This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic engineering environment where your expertise will directly influence the performance, safety, and quality of the vehicles we build.What you'll be doingLead the end-to-end design and development of chassis systems including suspension, steering, subframes, mounting systems, and associated structural componentsWork closely with our CAD team to generate models, engineering drawings, and bill of materials to OEM and Walkinshaw standardsOwn design releases, change management, and technical documentation throughout the product lifecycleWork closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Purchasing, and Vehicle DynamicsConduct engineering analysis to support design decisions (DFMEA, tolerance studies, structural assessments, packaging studies)Support prototype builds, vehicle testing, and production launch activitiesProvide technical leadership and ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and performance requirementsLiaise with suppliers and external partners to ensure feasibility, cost effectiveness, and quality of engineered solutionsWhat we're looking forYou'll be successful in this role if you bring:A degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline4–8+ years of experience in chassis engineering, structural components, or vehicle systems designSound understanding of vehicle dynamics, structural engineering, and manufacturing methodsProven experience managing design responsibility and release processesExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teamsA passion for automotive innovation and delivering high-quality engineering outcomesWhat we offerWork on cutting-edge automotive and engineering programsBe part of a respected Australian engineering organisation with a rich motorsport and performance heritage.Competitive salary and career development pathwaysAccess to industry-leading workshops, test facilities, and technical capabilityA supportive team culture that values innovation and craftsmanshipIf you're excited by the prospect of joining our team as a Design Responsible Engineer, we encourage you to apply now.
