Based in Cheltenham, you'll join a friendly and inclusive team as a Full Time General Labourer/Gardener. You will carry out general gardening and outdoor maintenance tasks, but more importantly, you'll be working side by side with our supported employees, people with intellectual disability, helping them build skills, confidence, and pride in their work.
Your day to day might include
* Planting, weeding, mowing, pruning and other hands-on gardening tasks
* Operating tools and horticultural equipment safely and with care
* Offering guidance and encouragement to supported employees while they complete their tasks
* Supporting inclusion in the community through shared work and community interaction
* Promoting a workplace culture where everyone feels valued, heard and respected
* Working alongside and reporting to team leads to ensure smooth, safe operations
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience working or volunteering with people with different abilities is an asset but not a requirement.
* Community Interaction- not essential but highly desirable.
* First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Knowledge of basic workplace health and safety principles.
* White Card (or willing to obtain)
* Chem Cert (or willing to obtain)
Essential Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
* Basic knowledge of gardening tasks and use of hand tools.
* Physical ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
* Patient, empathetic, and inclusive approach when working with people with disabilities.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to maintaining a safe and positive working environment.
* Valid Driver's Licence
* NDIS Workers Screening Check (easy to obtain)
