Job Opportunity: Mental Health Clinician
The role of a Mental Health Clinician involves providing recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care for individuals in suicidal crisis. This includes crisis response, assertive follow-up, psychosocial support, safety planning, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, client-centered care to individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
* Collaborate with peer workers and other multi-disciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive support services.
* Make informed referrals to community-based services and escalate concerns over consumer wellbeing as necessary.
* Work effectively within the outreach service, providing timely, safe, and effective care to those in a suicidal crisis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Qualified Counsellor with relevant qualifications and registration.
* Current knowledge and skills in relation to the effective treatment and support for people experiencing suicidality.
* Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically under pressure and effectively within a partnership with peer workers.
* Extensive knowledge of mental health principles and legislation.
* Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
