Senior Software Engineer (Mobile) – Sony Interactive Entertainment (Sony Group Corporation)
Join our team to build high‐quality mobile applications for PlayStation and other products.
Responsibilities
* Own the technical delivery of the mobile app to market.
* Provide guidance and coaching to team members on mobile development.
* Develop secure, well‐tested, and performant features.
* Collaborate with Product Management, UX, Backend teams to iterate on new features.
* Write clean code aligned with internal style and best‐practice standards.
* Ship small features quickly and contribute to larger projects.
* Identify and implement code‐base improvements and component enhancements.
* Maintain the component library and other shared infrastructure.
* Participate in an on‐call roster for 24/7 availability.
Qualifications
Mobile Requirements
* Demonstrated expertise in Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple Store) delivery.
* Experience with React Native, React, and Expo.
General Requirements
* Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue, Angular, Ember, etc.).
* Proficiency in TypeScript.
* Experience with Node.js, SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL), and MongoDB.
* Experience writing automated tests (Jest, Cypress, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, AVA).
* Professional use of Git.
* Solid understanding of core web and browser concepts, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
* Effective written and verbal communication in English.
* Strong problem‐solving skills and ability to diagnose performance issues.
* Experience with an agile, highly iterative development process.
* Ability to onboard and integrate with an organization long‐term.
* Positive, solution‐oriented mindset with excellent teamwork.
* Self‐motivated with strong organizational skills.
Nice to have
* Experience in a high‐performance or tech‐startup environment.
* Experience with competitive video games (e.g., Fortnite, League of Legends).
* Product or enterprise software experience.
* Experience contributing to open‐source software.
* Experience working in a global or multicultural team.
