The Position
John XXIII College is seeking a Human Resources Manager who is collaborative and has a deep understanding of contemporary human resources practices and a strong commitment to supporting staff development, wellbeing, and performance within a values-driven, faith-based educational environment.
Reporting to the Principal, and the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, the Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in developing, coordinating, and administering strategies, programs, and policies that support the College's vision and values. The role is central to ensuring that the College fosters a positive and professional workplace environment aligned with its Catholic identity and strategic pillars of faith, excellence, inclusivity, care for the whole person, and sustainability.
The incoming Human Resources Manager will have oversight of a wide range of human resources functions, including recruitment, staff development, remuneration, policy implementation, performance management, and compliance with employment legislation. This includes supporting the Executive Team in workforce planning, overseeing engagement surveys, and maintaining effective staff records and processes to ensure both organisational and statutory requirements are met. The role also requires proactive engagement with staff, fostering strong professional relationships, and ensuring that HR initiatives contribute to a compelling employee value proposition.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day operational responsibilities.
