A Central QLD hospital requires a Specialist in General Practice from 29/12/2025 to 15/01/2026. Most home visits are carried out by HITH nurses, with the doctor primarily responsible for:
* Providing clinical oversight and medical management for HITH patients.
* Conducting initial assessments and reviews, either remotely or from the hospital or clinic base.
* Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to review treatment plans, monitor progress, and support discharge decisions.
* Being available for consultation or escalation when patients under HITH care require medical input beyond nursing scope.
This role is suited to a GP or SMO comfortable with managing acute presentations and working closely with nurses and allied health to coordinate community-based care.
