Rubix Solutions has just be awarded a number of new resourcing requirements working on the National Broadband Network. These are a mixture of both contract and permanent roles.
They will work in a team environment to deliver high-quality workmanship and meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
**Core responsibilities**:
- Operate HDD Drilling equipment to install underground conduits and fibre optic cables as per project specifications
- Plan and organise daily work schedule and equipment maintenance requirements
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Maintain and repair drilling equipment as required
- Ensure all project documentation is accurately completed
- Provide daily progress reports to the Project Manager
**Other responsibilities**:
- Operation of directional drills, vacuum excavation units and excavators
- Set up of job sites in accordance with established safety and environmental requirements
- Interpreting BYDA plans and locating underground assets before works commence
- Completing JSEAs and Pre-Start forms
- Maintenance of site vehicles and plant to ensure they are kept clean and in safe working order
- Reporting day to day productivity and issues through to engineers and supervisors
**How you will connect to the role**:
- HR drivers licence (manual preferred)
- Experience operating Vermeer drill rigs 10x15, 20x22, 23x30, and up to 60,000lbs
- Experienced in using Digi Track locating systems (F5 Falcon +)
- A good understanding of drill fluid requirements for different ground conditions
- Excavator, Traffic Management, First Aid (incl. CPR) and 'Identify, Locate and Protect Underground Services' tickets/qualifications are highly desirable
- Minimum 2 years' experience in HDD drilling or similar drilling experience
- Experience with fibre optic cable installation is an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and construction white card
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to various project locations
