The Team: The team supports inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy services at the RHH, playing a key clinical role within the Tasmanian Health Service. The Royal Hobart Hospital functions as a clinical teaching and research hub, collaborating closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. The Compounding and Cancer Services team operates with a unified focus across services—chemotherapy, oncology, haematology, and specialist compounding—to deliver excellence in patient care, workforce performance, and community outcomes. The Role: You will need: Operate independently in the provision of complex pharmacy activities to patients of the Tasmanian Health Service by demonstrating advanced knowledge, skills and experience relevant to pharmacy practice and provision of pharmaceutical information and providing professional advice and consultancy services to other disciplines and the public. Supervise pharmacy teams under the broad delegation of the relevant pharmacy service manager, including direction of work priorities and practices; monitoring workflow; management of staff, professional supervision and development, performance appraisal and implementing programs and strategies to address identified training needs (including within an extended hours framework as appropriate). Lead, Initiate and participate in the development and monitoring of policies and standard operating procedures for clinical pharmacy services. Details of appointment: Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year other benefits if eligible. Allowances: Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme Market allowance of $10,000 per annum, pro rata. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Position Features: Participation in an on call and weekend roster, with other pharmacists, for out-of-hours provision of pharmacy services is required. The position may be recruited as Day Work or Shift Work. Occasional intra and interstate travel may be required for all roles.
