About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester to support the delivery of complex ICT projects within a Federal Government environment. This role will focus on developing and executing automated testing strategies to ensure the quality, performance, and accessibility of digital solutions.
You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to validate system functionality, contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices, and support delivery across both Agile and traditional project environments.

Position: Automation Tester – $800–$1,200/day + super
Location: ACT (Onsite)
Working Arrangement: Onsite (flexibility considered case-by-case)
Start Date: 1 July 2026
Duration: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions
Application Window: Closing 24 April 2026

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute automated test strategies, plans, and test cases
* Create and maintain test artefacts using tools such as Azure DevOps
* Analyse requirements, specifications, and user stories to define testing scope
* Perform functional, system, and regression testing on web-based applications
* Identify, log, and track defects and issues through testing tools
* Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to resolve defects
* Support and guide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
* Ensure digital solutions meet accessibility standards (WCAG compliance)
* Contribute to the implementation and improvement of automation frameworks
* Prioritise testing activities in line with project timelines and risks
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and cross-functional team delivery
* Provide input into testing strategies and quality assurance processes
About You
* Demonstrated experience in automation testing within complex ICT environments
* Strong experience developing and executing test plans, cases, and strategies
* Experience working with tools such as Azure DevOps for test management
* Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
* Experience working in Agile environments with fast-paced delivery cycles
* Strong understanding of testing for web-based applications
* Knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders
* Experience supporting or leading UAT activities
* Exposure to Microsoft/Azure environments (desirable)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Must be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
* Must have valid working rights in Australia (Australian Citizen or long-term visa holders only; no sponsorship available)
