An established Australian organisation with a 35‐year history and approximately 80 employees is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to take full ownership of its payroll function. The company is known for its strong team culture, stable workforce, and supportive environment. This is a rare opportunity for a specialist looking for genuine flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to manage an entire payroll function remotely.
Your new role
You will be responsible for end‐to‐end payroll for 75–80 employees, acting as the sole payroll expert within the business. The position offers approximately 6 hours per fortnight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full end‐to‐end payroll processing including:
* Superannuation (weekly), PAYG, payroll tax, LSL, leave calculations, workcover
* Management of novated leases
2. Fortnightly payroll processed every second Tuesday
* Monday: timesheet/clock card data is prepared
* Tuesday: export, check, reconcile, and process
3. Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation and tax requirements
(including bonus taxation effects)
4. Work within NetSuite payroll; familiarity with Employment Hero is an advantage
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong experience with end‐to‐end Australian payroll
* Confident in interpreting awards, legislation, super, leave, and tax variations
* Ability to work independently and remotely
* Strong communicator with high attention to detail
* Experience with NetSuite highly desirable
* Understanding of Employment Hero beneficial but not essential
