As a Mechatronics Engineer, you'll be joining a global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of wear products and services for mining equipment.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will lead and support the sub-system design and documentation of Bradken's Digital Mining products, including CAD models, circuit diagrams, and PCB layouts.
Responsibilities
You will research and develop prototypes to validate fit, form, and function, and perform simulations and analyses such as FEA, thermal, vibrational, and control systems to ensure robust design outcomes.
You will develop comprehensive testing and validation procedures to assess performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
You will have technical leadership that will extend across the full lifecycle of digital systems from conceptualisation and development to integration and enhancement, covering Bradken's cloud-hosted platforms, edge hardware, and third-party systems.
You will plan and establish the infrastructure that supports Agile, efficient development of Edge and Digital products over a 1–3-year horizon.
You will collaborate with internal and external development teams to deliver solutions aligned with agreed architectures, while managing budgets, supporting CAPEX submissions, and overseeing global vendors and R&D partners.
You will ensure compliance with Australian and international standards, prepare technical documentation and training resources, and lead change management across all levels.
Key Technical Criteria
A Bachelor's or Honours Degree in Mechatronics Engineering is essential.
Experience in the mining sector (preferably within excavators and dump trucks).
Experience deploying systems within the mining sector and / or similar harsh environments is required.
Demonstrable experience in electronics design and analysis, including circuit simulation, PCB design, and / or circuit troubleshooting of advantage.

This role can be based in Brisbane or Newcastle.
