Learn the Trade. Make a Difference. Be a Legend.
Are you handy around the house? Do you love working outdoors? Do you want to learn trade and gardening skills while actually making a difference in people's lives? We're looking for enthusiastic local people living in the Murray Bridge area who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help older people in your community maintain the homes and gardens they cherish.
At Murray Mallee Aged Care Group, your day might look like:
· Fixing Albert's screen door, and he tells you about the time he built his entire back deck by hand in 1972.
· Mowing Margaret's lawn, as she watches from the porch and shares stories about her prize-winning roses
· Changing Bob's smoke alarm battery and testing it, knowing he'll sleep soundly with that extra peace of mind.
· Clearing Joan's gutters and she insists on making you a cuppa, just like she did for the tradesmen who built her home fifty years ago.
As a Junior Handyman/Gardener, you'll work alongside an experienced team member, learning valuable skills while helping our clients maintain a safe and comfortable home environment. Each day will be different as you travel from one property to another, solving problems, learning new skills, and making someone's day brighter.
What Makes Our Junior Handymen/Gardeners Special:
· Eagerness to learn and a positive can-do attitude
· Basic practical skills and a willingness to develop them further
· A respectful, patient manner with older people
· Availability for part-time hours, with potential for full-time as the service grows
· The ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
· A genuine interest in helping others while building a rewarding career
What We Offer:
· Flexible part-time hours with the possibility of full-time opportunities
· Provision of equipment, vehicles, and allowances
· A supportive team (because the best work is never done alone)
· Salary Packaging - decreasing your tax and increasing your take-home pay
· The chance to use your skills where they matter most
Before you join our team, you'll need to have:
· Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, repairs, and gardening
· Trade qualifications or extensive practical experience (we value both formal training and years of hands-on knowledge)
· A current driver's license
· Current First Aid Certificate (we can assist you with this)
· A National Police Check (we can assist you with this)
· Basic ability to use a smartphone (for scheduling, photos, and staying connected)
