We are seeking experienced Groundskeepers and Handypersons to join our remote Camps & Lodges across Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.
Job Description
* Maintain beautiful gardens, lawns, pathways, and landscaped areas to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
* Carry out regular mowing, slashing, trimming, and general grounds care to ensure our outdoor spaces look their best.
* Manage weed control and support small nurseries or herb gardens to promote biodiversity and sustainability.
* Complete daily outdoor inspections and keep public areas clear and clean to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
* Assist with pool cleaning where applicable to ensure our facilities meet high standards.
* Help with minor lodge upkeep and basic repairs to prevent equipment failures and ensure smooth operations.
* Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard to guarantee optimal performance and efficiency.
* Follow safety procedures and keep accurate task records to minimize risks and maximize productivity.
Requirements
* Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is essential for this role.
* Confidence operating equipment such as mowers and whipper snippers is crucial for success in this position.
* A valid forklift licence is required, as well as a chainsaw licence.
* A passion for nature and working outdoors is a must for this role.
* A proactive, positive, can-do attitude is vital for collaborating effectively with our team.
Handyperson Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair buildings, fixtures, equipment, and guest facilities to ensure they remain in good condition.
* Complete preventative maintenance and respond quickly to repair needs to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
* Assist with fleet servicing and basic mechanical repairs (location dependent) to ensure our vehicles are roadworthy.
* Troubleshoot technical issues and diagnose maintenance problems to find effective solutions.
* Ensure all work meets safety standards to protect ourselves and others.
* Maintain accurate schedules, logs, and record keeping to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Handyperson Requirements
* Trade, mechanical, maintenance, or general repair experience is highly valued for this role.
* A basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems is necessary for troubleshooting and repairs.
* The ability to read manuals and technical drawings is essential for completing tasks efficiently.
* A heavy Rigid and/or forklift licence is highly regarded for this role.
* Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail are vital for success in this position.
