The Role
An excellent opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to join the Rex Airports team in the full-time role of North Queensland Airport Manager, based at Cairns Airport.
Position Responsibilities:
* Performance monitoring of service level agreements for contracted service providers such as the Ground Handling Agents, catering suppliers, refueling and freight agents.
* Oversight of operators in Cairns and across our ports in Northern Queensland.
* Liaison with other airlines, airports and appropriate authorities.
* Ensuring compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and Code of Conduct.
* Comply with company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
* Provide ground handling training to staff and ground handling agents as required including check‐in and ramp functions.
* Oversee operational standards at Rex ports across Northern Queensland and undertake ground training and operational reviews.
* Oversight of on‐time performance across Northern Queensland.
* Liaison with other Company departments on operational matters.
* Perform administrative support for flight operations matter such as manual amendments or other duties as directed by the General Manager Flight Operations/Chief Pilot or delegate.
* Management of damaged/mishandled baggage claims for Northern Queensland ports.
* Perform other duties as directed by the National Airports Manager or delegate.
Selection Criteria:
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
* Task driven and focused with an ability to time manage, prioritise and multi task.
* Strong customer service experience in a fast‐paced, high‐service environment with airline/industry experience preferred.
* Ability to work independently and to be self‐motivated.
* Experience with Sabre DCS is beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
* Well‐presented, professional, and enthusiastic about supporting regional aviation.
* Meet the requirements to be able to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
