We are currently seeking a professional Technical Writer to join the McCain Learning and Development team, reporting to the Training Manager ANZ. The successful applicant will be responsible for updating production and process procedures, operational work instructions and training documentation, ensuring complex information is explained in a clear and concise manner and a consistent approach is maintained across all our manufacturing sites.
This role is for an 18-month fixed-term contract and can be based in either Ballarat or Melbourne, with a minimum of 3 days in Ballarat each week.
**About the role**
- Edit and update operational procedures and manuals to maintain continuity of style and currency of content
- Review and revise documents and procedures including manufacturing process instructions, test procedures, equipment binders, etc. to standardize ANZ manufacturing documentation. This will include but not limited to: Operator Manuals and Procedures, Training Manuals and Literature, Maintenance Manuals, and general Engineering Documentation.
- Format technical processes using McCain templates and global framework. Ensure that the documents are clear, concise, and technically accurate using photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts to increase users' understanding,
- Participate in formal design reviews to generate notes and action items
- Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
- Consolidate and maintain a comprehensive virtual library of manuals using contemporary record keeping and governance methodology
- Deliver oral and written status and progress briefs to ANZ Training Manager
- Support the McCain lean manufacturing program - MDI
**About You**
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret system specifications, assembly/test procedures, engineering drawings, charts, production diagrams and schematics.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written); must be able to take complex, technical information and translate it for colleagues and consumers who have nontechnical backgrounds.
- Excel at stakeholder engagement and building relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to develop training materials
- Ability to multitask and create, maintain, and manage multiple project objectives according to deadlines.
- Capable of working in an autonomous role without supervision

- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- An understanding of Learning and Development processes would be valuable
