Teaching Role
Classroom teachers are responsible for developing and delivering educational programs that meet specific student outcomes.
* Depending on the level of responsibility, teachers may take on additional duties such as mentoring, supervising student teachers, and contributing to school development initiatives.
Key selection criteria include:
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curriculum areas, ability to integrate literacy and numeracy skills, and experience responding to diverse student learning needs.
* Experience planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies aligned with student learning principles, and evaluating impact on learning growth.
* Experience monitoring and assessing student progress, using data to inform instruction, and providing feedback to students and parents.
* Interpersonal and communication skills; experience establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.
* Demonstrated behaviours aligned with Department values, reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.
