The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Health is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Staff Specialist Nuclear Medicine vacancy.
In accordance with hospital policies, procedures and statutory regulations, the Staff Specialist - Nuclear Medicine will:

Provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Nuclear Medicine pursue improved outcomes for Nuclear Medicine patients by participating in teaching and research relevant to Nuclear Medicine.Will be involved in Multi discipline meetings

Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. Nuclear Medicine at the RHH is part of the medical imaging department. We are equipped with current dual and single headed gamma cameras as well as a dedicated, CZT cardiac SPECT scanner from Spectrum Dynamics. Our PET/CT scanner is a digital GE Discovery MI gen 2.

The Role

Provides clinical services incorporating principles of best practice.Provides services in the activities of the Department as agreed with the Clinical Director and other Staff Specialists.Establishes and oversees activities to review resource utilisation and develop appropriate strategies, plans and procedures for their efficient and effective use.Encourages and facilitates teaching and research appropriate to the role of the Department.Ensures relevant Work Health and Safety (WH&S) practices and standards are implemented and maintained.Ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of performance management systems which support the ongoing development of individual and team performance and skills for medical, technical and administrative staff.Ensures a system of continuous quality improvement that systematically evaluates, identifies opportunities for improvement and plans to implement strategies to meet customer needs.Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

Salary
Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award
A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.
Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $216,300 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $296,640 with further salary increments available.

Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $28,786 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 pro rata per annum.On call allowance % of Base Salary.All other allowances as per current Award.

Details of Appointment
Permanent part-time day work (with on-call), working 30.4 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Essential Requirements

Holds specialist registration and has Australian credentialling in Nuclear Medicine, Therapy and PETIs a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.
