We are seeking a talented and experienced SMSF Accountant and Auditor to join our fast growing Chartered Accounting firm located in Greenslopes, Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing SMSFs, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service to our clients. The Firms is led by a Sole Practitioner with over 20 years experience in Practice.
FULL TIME AND PART TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and tax returns for SMSFs.
* Prepare Business Activity Statements for SMSF's.
* Prepare detailed workpaper files and getting files audit ready for external auditor
* Conducting audits of self-managed superannuation funds for our external clients to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accounting and auditing standards.
* Preparation and referencing of electronic Audit workpaper files.
* Experience with BGL360 and Class Super.
* Prepare detailed audit reports, ensuring clarity and thoroughness.
* Compliance Assessment to ensure the fund adheres to all relevant superannuation rules and regulations.
* Liaise with Sole Practitioner to assist in addressing audit findings and provide recommendations for improvements.
* Stay updated on industry regulations and trends to provide informed guidance to clients.
* Collaborate with team members to enhance audit processes and methodologies.
* Assist in special projects and initiatives to improve the overall audit function.
Key Selection Criteria
* Experience working within an Australian Public Practice or SMSF specialist organisation highly regarded.
* Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce or Finance Related Degree preferable however, extensive experience in SMSF Auditing without qualifications will be considered so as to provide equal opportunity to all potential applicants.
* CA/CPA Qualified or working towards preferable but not essential for those who have extensive experience in SMSF.
* Knowledge of BGL360, Class Super and Xero Practice Manager.
* Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation, accounting standards, and auditing principles.
* Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation (SIS Act), AASB accounting standards, and ASA auditing standards
* Minimum 2-3 years of SMSF accounting and auditing experience in Australian public practice
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency, or valid work visa required
