Solar Development Manager Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to manage solar PV project developments from greenfield origination to start of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage solar PV project developments from greenfield origination to start of construction
* Conduct due diligence and analysis of new opportunities (acquisitions, partnerships)
* Deliver value on a portfolio of utility-scale PV development assets through a combination of greenfield, mid-stage and late-stage development, project analysis, risk reduction, and deal origination
* Coordinate key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and/or financial negotiations
* Supports due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects to ensure effective execution
* Manage consultants, external stakeholders, and other third parties to ensure project success
* Manage budgets, milestones, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects consistent with targets
* Ensure and tracks compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualification in either electrical engineering or a related field
* Minimum of 7+ years experience in renewable energy development experience, from pre-feasibility right through to commissioning, optimising operations and asset management of off-grid power systems and utility-scale solar farms
* Strong understanding of cogeneration and tri-generation technology
* Extensive knowledge of the full-cycle of utility-scale renewable power generation development
* Extensive knowledge of interconnection, permitting, real estate, state/federal regulation, utility procurement goals, policy and other issues that impact development of renewable energy projects
* Specific knowledge and experience managing full transmission interconnection process for energy projects
* Extensive knowledge of the solar PV industry participants (potential partners) and stakeholders
* Experience in negotiating and executing contracts, and managing counterparty relationships
* Ability to manage numerous projects and relationships simultaneously
* Proactive attitude with the ability to work with a wide range of people
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
