About the Role
Seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate Family/Carer Peer Support Worker to join the team at Sunshine Hospital's Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre. You will be a valuable addition to our multidisciplinary teams who continue to strive in the improvement and support we offer our families/carers.
About You
To be Successful in this Role, you will have:
A personal lived/living experience of being a primary carer for someone with mental health challenges which have resulted in engagement with public mental health services.
A practical knowledge and understanding of the issues facing families, carers and consumers.
Ability to mutually support families/carers in their journeys; sharing your own lived experience to inspire hope and possibility; providing linkages and resources where identified.
Build an understanding of the effectiveness of the role of lived experience workforces within clinical mental health services.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, liaise and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women's prison located in Ravenhall.
