Summary
As a Lifeguard, you are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests in the pool area through vigilant supervision and proactive risk prevention. You provide a welcoming environment while enforcing pool rules and responding effectively to emergencies. Your presence and professionalism help maintain a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience in alignment with company values and safety standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
* Greet guests, offer assistance, and provide pool-related information or instructions
* Support daily pool operations by overseeing towel distribution, coordinating with EVS and other departments to maintain cleanliness and inventory, reporting safety or maintenance hazards, and delivering prompt, courteous service to guests
* Assist with cabana operations and maintain cleanliness and presentation of cabana areas
* Monitor pool and deck activity to ensure guest safety and identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviors
* Maintain active surveillance of assigned zones using proper scanning techniques and lifeguard positioning
* Respond immediately and appropriately to all emergencies, including water rescues, injuries, or medical incidents
* Administer CPR, First Aid, or other lifesaving interventions as needed, and complete required incident documentation
* Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently and courteously to prevent accidents and promote guest enjoyment
* Perform routine checks of water clarity, chemical levels, and safety equipment; report any issues to management
* Support the cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, lifeguard stations, and surrounding areas
* Attend and participate in all required training sessions, in-service drills, and staff meetings
* Provide outstanding guest service through friendly, respectful, and attentive interactions
* Communicate effectively with fellow team members and supervisors using radios and in-person communication
* Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures,, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
* Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Prior lifeguard or aquatic safety experience preferred, but not required
* Ability to remain alert, attentive, and physically active for extended periods
* Strong communication skills with a calm, professional demeanor.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Requirements
* This position is classified as safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana
* At least 16 years of age
* Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
* Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
* Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements
* Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. (e.g., rescue equipment, signage, or supplies)
* Regularly swim, dive, and tread water for extended periods during surveillance and training
* Frequently climb in and out of pools and stand or sit at lifeguard stations for long durations
* Frequently kneel, squat, bend, and twist during emergency response or facility maintenance
* Ability to visually scan wide areas and detect movement or distress in and around the water
* Ability to communicate clearly in person and via two-way radio in noisy or outdoor environments
* Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions including sun exposure, heat, humidity, and wet/slippery surfaces
