About the Opportunity
Join the production team in Henderson, WA for a permanent, full-time opportunity and work with a dedicated team focused on supporting submarine maintenance. This role will work across our ASC West site covering the Collins Class Submarine Programs of work.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leads this position consists of the following major work components:
* Installation, refurbishment, planned maintenance, set to work and defect rectification of the CCSM and the associated submarine systems.
* Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of trade and boat team leaders.
* Delivery of completed work packs to the appropriate trade team leader to support implementation and project close out in accordance with the “End to End” process.
About you
* A trade certificate in fitting/turning or refrigeration mechanic.
* Strong commitment to safety.
* Sound communication skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Proven ability to be flexible and an eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
* Previous experience in shipbuilding, defence or heavy engineering.
* Demonstrated experience in accurately interpret complex work scopes and implement the task as outlined in work packs.
* Experience with working in restricted areas and confined spaces.
* Demonstrated expertise in the provision of fitting, machining and maintenance skills, knowledge and craftsmanship.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
