About the Role:

This position is responsible for leading projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery and realization of business benefits.

* Lead project teams through the project lifecycle by planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking a project plan.
* Develop and maintain projects to support each individual project within it.
* Be accountable for delivery of large and complex projects such as acquisitions, transitions, and strategic product initiatives.
* Plan and design projects, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and initiating corrective action.
* Adhere to governance and delivery frameworks.
* Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project.
* Manage project budgets on behalf of senior stakeholders, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered benefits.
* Facilitate the appointment of individuals to project teams.
* Deliver new products or services from projects to the appropriate level of quality, on time, and within budget.
* Allocate common resources and skills within the project.
* Manage third-party contributions to the project.
* Communicate with stakeholders.
* Manage risks to the project's successful outcome.
* Work with business change managers on the transition to new business-as-usual positions.
* Initiate extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the project are identified or issues arise.
* Report project progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* A seasoned project management practitioner with experience delivering large programs of work and managing C-level stakeholder relationships.
* Minimum 7+ years' experience in project management.
* Experience in delivering IT, people, and administration projects within financial services.
* Ideal experience including transitions for investment managers, custodians, superannuation, and pension funds, and mergers and acquisitions.
* Proven track record in planning, executing, and delivering large complex programs/projects on time and on budget.
* Detailed knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs.
* Good understanding of the procurement process, including negotiation with third parties.
* Good knowledge of program and project management methods, including MSP and Prince2.
* Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
* Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the program.
* The ability to find ways of solving or preempting problems.
