The team

The Superannuation and Life Insurance team is primarily responsible for ASIC's role in the regulation and supervision of the superannuation and life insurance sectors. The team undertakes proactive engagement with, and monitoring of, regulated entities and the sector overall.

The team coordinates and provides strategic direction, industry knowledge and technical expertise for ASIC's work in these sectors. It conducts analysis, research, proactive supervision, monitoring and engagement to achieve appropriate regulatory outcomes. The team also considers applications for relief from legislative requirements, supports regulatory reform activities, and actively engages with stakeholders to respond to current and emerging industry issues. In addition, the team provides assistance to other ASIC teams, particularly in support of enforcement and compliance action.

The role

As an Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing and actioning regulatory issues across the superannuation and life insurance sectors to promote compliance with the law and better outcomes for consumers.

You Will
* Undertake data‐driven supervision activities, including surveillance, review and monitoring, to support adherence with the law and improved consumer outcomes
* Identify, assess and action regulatory issues, including analysing data and other information to identify regulatory harms, their root causes and potential impacts
* Participate in thematic reviews of harms or problems across the sector and contribute to the development of appropriate regulatory solutions
* Conduct research and analysis on current and emerging issues affecting the superannuation and life insurance sectors
* Draft clear, accurate analysis and advice on regulatory matters, with supervision on more complex issues
* Prepare regulatory instruments and other regulatory documents, including reports and briefings for senior management and external stakeholders
* Consider applications for relief from legislation, including reviewing submissions, applying policy and precedents, and contributing to sound regulatory recommendations
* Liaise and engage with internal and external stakeholders on regulatory issues, encouraging improvements in industry practice and supporting effective regulatory outcomes
About You

You are a strategic and analytical thinker with strong investigative and research skills, able to assess complex information and apply sound regulatory judgement. You communicate clearly and effectively, build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and thrive in a collaborative, fast‐paced environment.

You are adaptable and forward‐thinking, able to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple projects while maintaining a focus on quality outcomes and consumer impact.

You Will Also Have
* A relevant tertiary qualification
* Experience, or the ability to readily acquire knowledge, in regulatory and sector‐related matters
* Experience assessing and analysing qualitative and quantitative data to identify regulatory harms and their root causes
* Strong analytical, investigative and research skills, including data analysis and presentation
* Experience applying or interpreting financial services legislation and policy
* Experience ideally gained in a corporate, consulting, government or academic environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting information to different audiences
* Experience managing relationships with industry and other stakeholders
* The ability to take a well‐considered, forward‐thinking and planned approach, with agility and flexibility to respond to change
