The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Contracts Manager to drive our pre-contract activities in South Australia and Northern Territory, from our Wingfield depot.
In this critical role, reporting to the General Manager, you will lead bid preparations, tender submissions, contract negotiation and administration of contracts.
You'll ensure that all commercial and legal terms are meticulously aligned with the client documentation, facilitating a smooth transition into project delivery.
Key responsibilities & requirements:
Identify and pursue opportunities within the marketplace to drive business growth.
Lead the review and negotiation of contracts and subcontracts to ensure alignment with project scope and risk profiles.
Manage the pre-contracts team to prepare and review contractual components of tender packages.
Coordinate pre-contractual matters, including confidentiality deeds and preliminary agreements.
Ensure compliance with Topcoat Asphalt's Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) and ISO/FSC standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters during the pre-construction phase.
Manage contract registers, variation logs, and procurement trackers.
Identify and elevate contractual risks and opportunities to senior management.
Skills:
Relevant experience in contract management, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of legal terminology and contractual obligations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage risks effectively.
Experience & Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Law or equivalent.
3+ years' experience in contract administration or commercial roles within construction industry is essential.
Demonstrable experience leading contract negotiations and managing legal and commercial risk.
Strong working knowledge of Australian construction contracts (e.g., AS ****, AS ****) and OFSC compliance.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiar with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Aconex, Jobpac).
Current Driver's Licence.
