Join HDR as our Health & Safety Manager – Australia and play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our team across Australia. This part-time position is available for 3 days per week and can be based in any of our major offices, including Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

Role Overview
The Health & Safety Manager – Australia will provide health and safety leadership, manage training programmes, chair the Australian Safety Committee, coordinate safety initiatives and support well-being and psychosocial safety strategies.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary advocate for health, wellbeing, and safety, providing expert advice and visible leadership.
Oversee health and safety planning, coordinate and deliver training, review SWMS/safety documentation and support initiatives across multiple sectors and projects.
Chair the Australian Safety Committee, prepare monthly safety performance reports, support SH&E program implementation, manage safety initiatives and review incident reporting and investigations.
Work with Operational Leadership and Human Resources teams to develop and implement strategies addressing psychosocial risks and enhance support services for our teams.

About You
3+ years of technical experience in health and safety management, ideally within an architecture and engineering consultancy.
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety preferred; tertiary qualifications are a plus.
In-depth knowledge of mental health, psychosocial risk management, and ability to foster a culture of wellbeing.
Excellent communication skills including experience producing high-quality reports, training, briefings and project documentation.
Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
Ability to work independently with high initiative and adaptability.
Willingness to travel across HDR's Australian offices.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years technical experience or educational equivalent (associate's degree) in occupational health/safety.
Extensive knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of OSHA & ANSI regulatory standards.
Ability to instruct and facilitate safety, health and environmental training courses.
Team-oriented with exceptional written and oral skills in support of SH&E requirements.
