Overview
12-month casual positions, based in Sydney. These roles require full availability, including weekends and public holidays, as the roads we manage operate 24/7. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.
Responsibilities
* Monitor traffic and manage incidents from control rooms, using different control systems to monitor and manage traffic on open roads and in tunnels.
* Operate systems such as Automated Height Detectors, Road Management systems, CCTV, and Automatic Incident Detection Systems.
* Collaborate with field staff, Emergency Services, and your team to respond swiftly to incidents, contain events, and keep everyone safe.
* Develop and implement Incident Management and Traffic Management plans to keep roads running efficiently and safely when things don't go to plan.
* Use a curious mindset to explore improvements to processes and traffic management, and make recommendations for better outcomes.
* Apply rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices, and procedures, including operational systems.
Qualifications
* Experience in a monitoring centre or operational environment.
* Computer smart and analytical; interested in new technology and systems.
* Driven, resilient, and efficient; able to stay confident and professional in challenging situations.
* Organised, efficient, and decisive; capable of prioritising multiple tasks.
* Willing to work shifts; roads are open 24/7.
