ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.
Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track.
The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 4:3 Monday to Thursday roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.
As the Mechanical Senior Engineer & Governance, you will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering governance across Cannington, providing technical expertise for mechanical and mobile plant systems, and maintaining engineering standards across the operation.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Leading and mentoring the mechanical engineering team across the operation
Providing technical governance for mechanical and mobile equipment design, modification, and maintenance
Ensuring effective control of mechanical change requests and technical drawings
Ensuring all mechanical design and installation complies with Cannington and Australian standards
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Applying mechanical design and calculation principles across complex operating assets
Delivering technical advice and risk assessments within an operational environment
Managing engineering governance systems, standards, and procedures
Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
CPEng, RPEQ or eligibility to apply
Mining Supervisor (G1, G8, G9) qualification, or ability to obtain prior to commencement
Class C Driver's Licence
