OverviewWe're growing our eCommerce content team and are looking for a Shopping Writer to join News Corp Australia.
You'll create and optimise shopping stories across News.com.au Checkout, Taste, Escape, Body+Soul and more — helping millions of Australians shop smarter.
You'll craft engaging stories, optimise them for SEO and affiliates, and identify what makes people click.
You'll cover topics from home appliances and headphones to beauty and deals, and you'll optimise and expand existing content to maximise reach, relevance and revenue.
This role suits a passionate, curious and performance-driven writer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.Key responsibilities include content creation, optimisation, ideas and growth, collaboration with editorial, SEO, commercial, social and video teams, industry representation, and a focus on driving revenue through shopping content.Who you are: a self-starter with robust writing, SEO and CMS skills, able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
You should be comfortable appearing on camera for shopping video content and keen to accelerate News Corp's eCommerce growth.ResponsibilitiesContent creation: Write new, engaging and revenue-driving shopping stories, including coverage of major sales events (EOFY, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Prime Day, Christmas, Boxing Day).
Optimisation: Manage, update and expand existing articles to improve performance; target SEO, trends and culture gaps; use traffic, conversion and affiliate data to refine output.Ideas & growth: Pitch story and campaign ideas; contribute new formats and approaches to diversify revenue; bring subject-matter expertise to your vertical.Collaboration: Work with editorial, SEO, commercial, social and video teams to connect shopping content across platforms (including EDMs, socials and shoppable video).
Industry representation: Attend launches, events and famils to stay current on products and trends.QualificationsPrevious experience writing clean, authoritative and engaging digital content at pace (minimum 2 years).
