About The Role
With a proud legacy spanning more than 160 years, CSR is one of Australia's foremost manufacturing companies, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions through Gyprock and Cemintel. At our Wetherill Park facility, we run a 24/7 operation across two established product lines, and we're seeking a proactive, hands‐on Maintenance Manager to lead and optimise performance across both plants.
This role is all about being on the floor. You'll lead by example, set high standards, and drive reliability across two dynamic manufacturing operations. You'll own the maintenance strategy, oversee team performance, and ensure plant uptime—working closely with Manufacturing to keep production flowing seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading and executing the maintenance strategy across Gyprock and Cemintel plants
* Driving asset reliability, plant performance and uptime in a 24/7 environment
* Managing all preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance
* Planning and delivering shutdowns and capital projects to schedule and budget
* Setting and delivering against safety, cost and performance KPIs
* Leading, developing and holding accountable a team of ~30 (including supervisors, planner and engineers)
* Partnering with Manufacturing to align maintenance with production and supply priorities
* Embedding continuous improvement and Lean practices (5S, etc.)
* Managing budgets and ensuring cost‐effective outcomes; maintaining strong relationships across site, including union engagement
What You Bring To The Role
* Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager / Engineering leadership role within manufacturing, heavy industry or FMCG
* A hands‐on leadership style—you're visible, practical and not afraid to get involved
* Strong track record driving safety, reliability and team performance
* Solid mechanical aptitude (ideally trade‐qualified Fitter or Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background)
* Experience with SAP or similar CMMS for maintenance planning
* Exposure to Lean / continuous improvement methodologies
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced, 24/7 environment
* Confidence to lead people, build culture and hold standards
Benefits
* Supportive and collaborative culture that fosters innovation and inclusion. You'll be surrounded by talented colleagues who are passionate about their work and committed to helping each other succeed.
* Care and wellbeing offer includes up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave, 52 weeks of superannuation payment, and access to an employee assistance program.
* Rewarding career with on‐the‐job learning, development, and upskilling opportunities within and across our brands.
* Solid career stability with a strong focus on professional development.
