Role Description
As an Occupational Therapist within ESMHS you will be responsible for working with the multidisciplinary team to provide innovative, compassionate and recovery‑focused care. You will have the opportunity to work with a varied client group in a role that is challenging. Plan, coordinate, and implement high‑level clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within occupational therapy to provide high‑quality services to consumers of The Kiloh Centre, the acute inpatient unit, in line with NSW Health, SESLHD policies, procedures and standards.
Where you’ll be working
Kiloh Centre Inpatient mental health centre which consists of 46 acute and sub‑acute beds. Based on the Prince of Wales Hospital campus, Randwick.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth occupational therapy services within a multidisciplinary team, applying recovery‑focused approaches.
- Coordinate clinical casework and deliver high‑quality OT services aligned with SESLHD policies and standards.
- Contribute to service planning, clinical supervision, and quality improvement activities as part of the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must hold general registration with and qualifications recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or be eligible for registration at commencement.
- Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in Mental Health Occupational Therapy.
- Excellent negotiation, decision‑making and advocacy skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to provide education to enhance service delivery and to guide/ supervise others.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and apply advanced reasoning and skilled judgement in complex situations.
- Commitment to ongoing clinical/professional learning and to leading quality improvement initiatives.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence or willingness to travel.
