We are currently searching for multiple candidates to be able to work with spinal cord injuries, stroke and people living with a disability with complex mental health issues.
What You Will Be Doing
* Personal Care: Assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
* Transfers: Safe use of hoists and manual handling equipment
* Community Access: Supporting the client to engage in community activities and social outings
* Domestic Tasks: Light household duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean environment
* Social Support: Building rapport, providing companionship, and supporting mental health and wellbeing
* Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in skin integrity, health status, or wellbeing to clinical staff
* Collaboration: Working alongside clinical nurses and other healthcare professionals
Highly Desirable Experience & Skills
* Demonstrated experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries and physical disabilities and complex mental health issues.
* Experience with personal care.
* Calm, patient approach in challenging situations
* Understanding of pressure injury prevention and skin care protocols
* Experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities
* Patient, non-judgemental approach to supporting individuals
* Dual qualification of your Certificate 3 in Individual Support and Certificate 4 in Mental Health.
Minimum Requirements
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
* National Police Check
* Working with Children Check
* Drivers Licence with reliable vehicle
