Director of Human Resources and Strategy

The Director of Human Resources and Strategy is a key leadership position that provides high-level human resource expertise and advice to drive organisational change, continuous improvement, and policy building. This role plays a pivotal part in developing and driving our people and workplace strategy that positively contributes to our strategic direction and values.

This leadership position will provide operational support in all matters relating to people management, employee relations, and performance. Key responsibilities include:

* Providing professional expert advice and assistance to the CEO, managers, and staff on a broad range of human resource and administrative related matters.
* Fostering a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership and mentoring practices and role modelling of appropriate behaviours.
* Developing, reviewing, and implementing human resource, WHS, and administrative policies, processes, and procedures.
* Managing and coordinating recruitment activities across the organisation.
* Promoting continuous learning and development opportunities for staff.
* Working with the CEO and managers to forecast staffing needs and develop staffing plans.
* Providing strategic leadership to the WHS Committee to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and that our WHS practices are fit for purpose.
* Analysing workforce and service delivery data to identify trends, contribute to workforce and service strategies, and facilitate reporting.

Selection Criteria:

* Degree or significant expertise in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience in people and culture management, preferably in a not-for-profit or community services context.
* Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and best-practice.
* Proven experience in supporting First Nations women in accessing and remaining in the workforce.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development, delivery, and assessment of training and human services development projects.
* Previous experience in reporting and data analysis – workforce and/or service provision.
* Proven track record of building trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills and the ability to drive change.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Awareness, understanding, and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and the ability and experience to communicate on matters relevant to the delivery of HR services.
* Significant experience in driving organisational change and leading complex projects and teams.
