Exciting position to be part of a multidisciplinary team and provide mutual support, information and practical assistance to consumers who are part of Clayton MSTT.
- Play a key role in promoting choice, self-determination and opportunities for consumers to seek or maintain socially valued roles and connections in their local communities

**About The Role**
Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, Family/Carer Peer Workers use their own lived experience of caring for someone with mental health issues to provide emotional support, focus on family/carer wellbeing, and promote choice, self-determination and greater opportunities for family members and carers to be heard. Family/Carer Peer Workers work as part of a multidisciplinary team and establish strong, effective working relationships with clinical, allied health, and Consumer Peer Work staff.
Family/Carer Peer Workers act as recovery champions within the mental health program and may be involved in other activities including training and education, improving experience of care and service evaluation.
Families/Carers follow up both by phone and face-to-face contacts within the community, or the family/carer's own environment in an assertive outreach manner.

- Demonstrated experience
