If you are a qualified and compassionate Music Therapist who is passionate about holistic, person‐centred care, we encourage you to apply and join our supportive and values‐driven team.**The Position*** Complete patient assessment, plan, organise and deliver prescribed music therapy activities as part of the holistic care of the patient/client to influence improvements in health and well-being.* Collaborate with other Caregivers and multi-disciplinary teams when planning music activities in accordance with patients/clients physical, spiritual or psychological needs, capabilities and interests.* Direct and participate in instrumental and vocal music activities designed to meet patients/clients physical, spiritual or psychological needs, such as solo or group singing, rhythmic and other creative music activities and music listening.* Instruct patients/clients individually or in groups in prescribed instrumental or vocal music and music projective techniques such as guided imagery or progressive relaxation.* Provide education to patients/clients and caregivers about the role of Music Therapy.* Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.* To provide support and appropriate learning opportunities to Music Therapy students on placement.* Contribute to Divisional, Group and external forums as required.* As relevant, supervises and supports Allied Health Assistants and students to deliver effective services.* Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Satisfactory completion of all annual mandatory and unit based competencies as required.* Accepts responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise. Maintenance of own continuing professional development portfolio as required.To be successful in this role, you will hold a **postgraduate qualification in Music Therapy** and maintain **current membership with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA)**. You will demonstrate the ability to deliver skilled, ethical and professional music therapy services using evidence‐based practice.You will have proven experience providing **individual and group music therapy**, utilising sound clinical evaluation processes, and the ability to communicate effectively within a **multidisciplinary team environment**.
