Maritime Infrastructure Capability Advisor

About the role

Project Support – Maritime Advisory, PMCA & Maritime Design

* Providing high‑quality advisory support across Maritime domain projects, including planning, risk assessment, performance reporting, and project documentation.
* Supporting PMCA (Project Management & Contract Administration) activities, ensuring compliance with Defence or other Government processes, frameworks, and assurance requirements.
* Contributing to maritime design project phases, including concept development, design reviews, and integration of stakeholder inputs.
* Coordinating technical and non‑technical information between engineering, project management, and commercial teams.
* Assisting with project scheduling, milestones, deliverables, and progress tracking.
* Ensuring all outputs meet Commonwealth quality, security, and governance standards.

Development of Functional Requirements & Business Cases

* Leading or contributing to the development of functional and technical requirements for maritime capability initiatives.
* Conducting needs analysis, gap assessments, and solution option analysis to inform decision‑making.
* Preparing business cases aligned with Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC) frameworks and relevant policy guidance.
* Supporting the creation of cost estimates, benefits assessments, and risk evaluations for capability proposals.
* Ensuring documentation is clear, defensible, and supports approval pathways through Defence committees.

Stakeholder Management & Engagement

* Building and maintaining effective relationships with Defence stakeholders across SEG, Navy, NSSG, CASG, industry partners, and internal teams.
* Facilitating workshops, consultations, and briefings to gather input and ensure alignment with project objectives.
* Representing the organisation in stakeholder forums, working groups, and governance meetings.
* Managing expectations, resolving issues, and ensuring timely communication of project updates and decisions.
* Preparing stakeholder-facing materials, including presentations, reports, and strategic communications
