Team
The Department of Health Tasmania Emergency Department team at Launceston General Hospital (LGH) comprises emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics, and support staff who deliver urgent and life‐saving care. The team uses advanced medical protocols to assess, stabilise, and treat patients with acute conditions, ranging from trauma to medical emergencies. Working closely with other departments and community health services, they ensure timely escalation and transfer of critical patients to appropriate care levels.
Role
Providing expert, patient‐centred nursing care in a high‐pressure Emergency Department setting.
Responsibilities
* Deliver advanced clinical care for critically ill or injured patients, including trauma, cardiac, and paediatric emergencies.
* Safely manage deteriorating patients with prompt interventions.
* Collaborate with the care team for comprehensive critical care management.
* Manage multiple patient presentations simultaneously in a dynamic and unpredictable environment.
Eligibility
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.
* Hold a Board‐approved qualification in administration of medicines.
Salary
$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro‐rata). Includes a 12% superannuation contribution and is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
