About The Role
As a Police Cadet, you'll undertake 9 months full-time paid training at the SAPOL Academy in Taperoo (Adelaide). Training combines classroom-based study with physical, practical and scenario-based learning, covering studies in law, policy and procedure. You'll learn to respond to a range of real-world situations. This training will prepare you for a dynamic policing career where every day is different.
Once You Graduate, You'll Work As a Probationary Constable And Be Deployed To An Operational Team. Your Work May Include
* Conducting mobile patrols and responding to emergency calls.
* Investigating accidents, crimes, minor offences and public complaints, gathering evidence and investigating, arresting and interviewing suspects.
* Engaging with community members at events.
* Attending court.
* Managing traffic and road safety operations.
* Providing advice and assistance to victims of crime and their families.
* Maintaining records and preparing reports.
* Working closely with other policing sections and partner agencies to keep the community safe.
As you gain experience, you'll have access to ongoing training and a wide range of specialist pathways, including roles in investigations, dog operations, major crash, community engagement, road safety, prosecution, forensics, cybercrime and more.

Eligibility Requirements
* 17 years or older at the time of application.
