About The Role
The Maternity and Postnatal Service (MAPS) is a new opportunity in the Women's and Children's Service to provide care, education and support to women throughout their antenatal and postnatal period. The MAPS midwife does not care for the women in the program during labour and birth and are not on call. The MAPS Program is a continuity of care model where women accessing the program will have a known midwife for their antenatal and postnatal care. The MAPS midwife will see women both in the hospital and at home.
Responsibilities
Provide ongoing antenatal and postnatal care as part of the MAPS continuity of care model. Deliver education and support to women and families during the antenatal and postnatal period. Coordinate care with hospital and community services as required.
Requirements
* Current midwifery registration with AHPRA
* Current Australian Drivers Licence
* Right to Work in Australia
Desirable
* Recent (within 5 years) experience providing both antenatal and postnatal care
* Experience providing both antenatal and postnatal care is favourable
* Endorsed Midwife or working towards this qualification
Employment Type
Part time 0.6 FTE (24.0 hours per week).
