The Role
The client is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join their dynamic project delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in projects that shape Melbourne's utility landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Technical Support : Provide essential technical direction and engineering support to the site team, ensuring all work is executed to specification, budget, and schedule.
Quality and Compliance : Manage the quality assurance process, conduct inspections, and ensure all construction activities comply with relevant Australian standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Site Management : Coordinate subcontractors, manage material procurement, and oversee daily site activities, focusing on efficient resource allocation.
Documentation and Reporting : Prepare and maintain accurate site records, progress reports, technical documentation, and RFI's (Requests for Information).
Stakeholder Liaison : Work closely with the Project Manager, superintendents, client representatives, and utility authorities to ensure smooth project flow.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, proactive Site Engineer with a solid foundation in civil construction .
Essential Criteria
* A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer within the civil construction sector.
* A strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, including earthworks, trenching, conduits, and concrete structures.
* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively lead and coordinate site personnel and subcontractors.
Highly Desirable Criteria
* Exposure to electrical, power, or utility infrastructure projects substations, transmission lines, HV / LV reticulation, or communications).
* Knowledge of Victorian utility authority requirements and standards.
