Rye Pier Pho is a Vietnamese restaurant located in Rye, Victoria, specialising in traditional pho, noodle soups, rice dishes, stir-fries, and casual dine-in cuisine. The restaurant focuses on fresh ingredients, flavour balance, and efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook Vietnamese-style noodle soups, rice dishes, stir-fries, and casual dining menu items
* Prepare and maintain soup bases, broths, and stocks to ensure flavour consistency
* Operate wok station and manage high-volume service periods
* Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, and garnishes with proper knife techniques
* Assist in menu updates and daily specials based on customer demand
* Manage stock ordering, ingredient receiving, and inventory control
* Ensure consistent portion control and presentation standards
* Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
* Support kitchen workflow efficiency during peak lunch and dinner services
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
* Experience working across Asian or multi-cuisine kitchens
* Strong wok cooking skills and ability to prepare broths and soup bases
* Experience in stock control and kitchen organisation
* Ability to manage preparation and service in a fast-paced environment
* Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
* Strong understanding of food safety procedures
