The Role
Working in accordance with Education and Care Services National Law Act and Regulations, and working towards exceeding the National Quality Standards (NQS), the OOSH Childcare Educator is responsible for providing high-quality customer service through the delivery of a quality out of school hours care for Singleton children and families.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with planning and implementation of activities based on student interest, ensuring accuracy with reporting of information, producing high level oral and written communication.
Ensure the service is ready for operation at the beginning of each day when rostered on a corresponding shift, maintaining a clean, safe workplace with respect for indoor and outdoor learning environments.
Maintaining respectful, equitable and genuine relationships with children, showing patience, care, compassion, and discernment as needed.
Assisting with administrative duties as requested and being committed to continuous organisational improvement.
Essential to this role is a Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent, demonstrated experience in implementing interests and skills-based programs in a childcare environment, complemented by excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to build rapport with children.
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), and Provide First Aid Certificate, including anaphylaxis and asthma training is required for this role.
This position is offered on a Permanent, Part-time basis working 32.5 hours per week, split shifts during school terms and up to 38 hours in school holidays.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 7 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $**** - $**** per fortnight (for 32.5 hours per week) plus superannuation.
